About Dana
Dana F. Brown, MS.Ed
Dana comes to you with over 40 years of experience in education, including 16 years as a Principal in Malden, Holyoke and Boston. Two of the schools Dana led were under State Receivership when he was asked to support the turnaround efforts.
Dana also served as Project Manager and the District’s first Director of Strategic Initiatives and Logistics in the Norwood Public Schools where he supported a new building project, an equity audit, and the District’s strategic plan.
He’s been coaching and mentoring Teachers, Principals and Assistant Principals throughout his career.

Mr. Brown has always been at the forefront of raising expectations and performance levels for all students. He has a proven record of putting young people first and prioritizing their educational, social emotional, and post secondary success.

Principal of the Year
Dana was named the Massachusetts Principal of the year in 2016. He now mentors new and veteran school leaders across the state and country.

Leadership
Mr. Brown has participated in several statewide panels on such topics as DACA, Social and Emotional Learning, Early College Design, Mental Health, Restorative Practices, and the Power of Relationships in Dropout Prevention.

Commitment to School, District and State educational transformation
Mr. Brown has served in key advisory roles including as past member of the Board of Governors of the Regional Educational Laboratory Northeast and Islands, past member and co-chair of the Dual and Concurrent Enrollment Advisory Group for the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, and past member of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Principal’s Evaluation working group, among others.
